Method of Preparation
To make the Pudding, you will first need to mix all the dry ingredients. They are:
- ½ cup flour
- 2/3 cup breadcrumbs
- ½ tsp. Nutmeg
- Two cup raisins
- ½ tsp. Cinnamon
- One tbsp. Cocoa powder
- ½ cup sugar
- One pinch of grounded clove
- One pinch of All-spice
- One pinch Salt
In a separate bowl, mix butter, two eggs, and two to four tablespoons of brandy. Now, combine the dry and wet ingredients and mix well. Pour this batter into a deep bowl that has been greased with butter. Cover the bowl with foil and ensure that there’s room for the swollen pudding.

Take a bigger bowl and fill 2/3rd of it with water. Place the bowl with the pudding batter in this water and let it boil for four hours. Pour more water into the big bowl as the water level reduces to prevent the pudding from burning.
Once the pudding has cooked and cooled, remove it from the bowl and place it upside down. Dust the pudding with a little bit of icing sugar and serve with sauce. You can make the sauce by mixing 3 tbsp. of butter with ¾ cup powdered sugar and 3 tbsp. of Brandy or any other liquor of your choice.
