Volkswagen is expanding EV infrastructure in Walmart store parking lots
For many people, the biggest hindrance to purchasing an electric vehicle is a fear that it won’t be as convenient to charge it as it is to go to a gas station. Thankfully Volkswagen is aiming to alleviate these fears early on by building up a bigger EV infrastructure. Currently, they are working on expanding infrastructure to Walmart store parking lots. Keep reading below to learn about where you can charge your electric Volkswagen vehicle.
Are there enough Volkswagen charging station locations?
Volkswagen already has many charging station locations. Currently, there are over 120 operating charging stations in Walmart store parking lots in more than 34 states. Plus, they are always working on expanding these numbers. Volkswagen is spending $800 million in California and $2 billion nationwide to expand electric infrastructure, which makes sense, considering Volkswagen is expanding its electric vehicle options to include the new ID lineup.
Where else can you charge your electric Volkswagen vehicle?
Most people with electric vehicles opt to add a charging station to their own garage. You can also charge your Volkswagen vehicle at other charging stations. Volkswagen is making this convenient by having an interoperability agreement with Chargepoint. This means that you will only need one card or app to pay for charging at both brand’s charging stations.
