Many new Volkswagen models offer the IQ.DRIVE® but what is it? This is a safety system of driver assistance features to alert and help the driver avoid any threats on the road. Keep reading to learn more about each of the IQ.DRIVE® features.
Using the Forward Collision Warning system, drivers are alerted both visually and with audio if there is the potential for a rear-end collision with the vehicle ahead of them. This system also alerts drivers to pedestrians and brake automatically if needed.
This available feature can sense if the vehicle is moving into another lane without the turn signal when moving over 37 mph. Lane Assist helps keep drivers within the parameters of the lane within the limits of the system.
Active Side Assist
To help drivers avoid going into a vehicle they may have missed, the Active Side Assist sends an alert if there is another vehicle in the blind spot. Using Lane Assist, the vehicle may counter-steer in case you get too close.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Drivers can set a preset speed and distance from the vehicle in front. This allows for the vehicle to automatically slow down or speed up when activated.
Rear Traffic Alert
When the driver is backing up, the Rear Traffic Alert uses sensors to detect any vehicles crossing the rear of the vehicle’s path. The brake may automatically be used to stop the vehicle if needed.
