The heart of the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 will be a battery pack consisting of 288 pouch cells in 12 modules. The 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 model launched first will have an 85kWh battery and a rear-mounted AC permanent-magnet synchronous motor. Drivers can expect up to 201 horsepower and 228 pound-feet of torque.
On the outside of the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4, the Volkswagen will be displayed front and center. There will be large LED headlights flowing backward and a softly molded side section that curves. For customization, there will be six color options to choose between.
The inside of the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 has plenty of space with a comfortable 41.1 inches for front passengers and 37.6 inches in the rear. Behind the second row, there are 30.3 cubic feet of the cargo area and with the seats folded down, space opens up to 64.2 cubic feet. Some key technology features include the 10-inch Discover Pro touch infotainment display, 5.3-inch ID.Cockpit and “Hello ID.” natural voice control.
Safety and driver assistance technology
Standard inside the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 is the IQ.DRIVE® advanced driver assistance technology. This driver assistance system includes Emergency Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Monitor. There are six standard airbags and electronic safety systems like Electronic Stability Control and an Anti-lock Braking System.
